Alpha Omega Center's New Beginnings program offers parenting education and material assistance to families in Butler, Crawford, Lawrence, Mercer, and Venango counties. All services are free and confidential. Families choose the time that works for them to meet one-on-one with our parenting educators. We have recently added a Fathers in Action program along with our Earn While You Learn program for parents!
In 2018 we helped 118 families with a total of 692 parenting appointments! Also in 2018, 10 fathers attended 44 mentoring appointments.
In May of 2019 we opened our third office in Sandy Lake, to serve families in rural areas with few services.

How does it work?
After an initial intake, families attend parenting classes once a week. Our classes consist of topics such as: fetal development, car seat safety, good nutrition, newborn care, toddler discipline, and other helpful skills under the supervision of parenting educators.
Upon completion of each lesson, families earn "Mommy Money" or "Dad Cash" they can use to purchase items in our Mom's Shop. Items include wipes, diapers, clothes, formula, furniture, etc. Our Parent's Shop is stocked by generous donations from our community.
