Have you read about the new tax laws? I am sure you have, it’s been all over the news.
Taxes aren’t my specialty, not even close! These new laws seem like they will affect non-profits though, which means I have to try to understand them.
The bottom line is that many non-profits are worried that the new laws will prevent donors from giving. The theory is that donors give to get the tax deduction, and if the tax deduction isn’t there (or isn’t as significant) they won’t give.
I might not understand tax law (OK I don’t understand tax law) but I do understand our supporters. You all care about the mission and vision of Alpha Omega Center. You care about babies, and their mothers, getting the chance to live the life God intended for them. You care about protecting the “least of these” from a useless and violent death.
Maybe I’m living in a Pollyanna world, but I’m not worried. God has shown me again and again that He cares about what we’re doing at Alpha Omega Center. When He cares, He helps His people to get involved. Of all the people I have met and worked with God’s people are the best.
When I think of giving I think of seeds planted in the lives of others. Alone we can do some good, but working together we can make a tremendous impact on the lives of others. Each financial “seed” allows us to be personally involved in families’ lives as they make life changing decisions regarding their children.
If you have any questions about the new tax laws and how they affect you and your family, we recommend you talk to your accountant or financial advisor. If you have any questions about how your support of Alpha Omega Center is affecting the lives of people, born and unborn, let me know. I would love to show you the eternal “dividends” your investment in Alpha Omega Center is earning!
Changing Lives Together,
Sarah M. Bowen
